Collingwood, ON (November 24, 2009) – Alpine Ontario and Karbon are pleased to award Morgan Megarry (Craigleith) and Randa Teschner (Upper Ottawa Valley/NCD) the 2009-2010 Karbon Bursary in the amount of $2,500 each.
For the second year Karbon has recognized Ontario athletes with this annual bursary with the intent to assist elite athletes in need of financial support.
"Once again it is our privilege to support Alpine Ontario and it's athletes in their pursuit of excellence", stated Peter Schure of Schure Sports. "For over 20 years we have been sponsoring Alpine Ontario and this long term partnership exemplifies our commitment to amateur athletics and the development alpine skiing."
AOA’s Athletic Development Director, Heather Metzger comments on Megarry and Teschner. “These athletes display the qualities it takes to be successful in
this sport – drive, determination, passion and work ethic – it is a long haul and there is no easy pathway.”
Metzger along with AOA Athletic Director Joey Lavigne reviewed the more than 20 applications.
