COLLINGWOOD, ON (February 8, 2010) -- Ontario’s premier competition for racers 18 to 90+ is serious fun at its best. The weekend event will feature a Giant Slalom race hosted by Craigleith Ski Club on Saturday, February 27 and a Slalom race hosted by Toronto Ski Club on Sunday, February 28.  Participants may sign up for one or both races via Alpine Ontario's online registration system. This top-level Masters event is open to all racers on the National Points List. If you’re not currently registered you must obtain competitor status by February 12. For all registration information please select "event" on the tool bar, click on event filter and type "Masters" in the event name box. Plan to sign up early.

It will be one of the season’s best contests with GS, SL and combined medals for the top three finishers in each age category in addition to a sponsored Karbon jacket for combined winners in each age category. Overall combined winners will be invited to the following year’s championship at no charge. Participation draws will be held in Rusty’s Bar (Blue Mountain Village Centre) at 4 PM on Sunday.

As well, to entice quality competitors, Johnson & Robertson Financial Services Meaford and The Ontario Mortgage Store www.omtgs.com have contributed a $1,000 purse to be shared by one male and one female racer over 30 years old who held the lowest SL and GS National Points at the start of each race and finished with the lowest race points total for the two events. Winners will both receive a $500 reimbursement of the expenses they incurred to compete in the 2010 Canadian Masters Championship in Sun Peaks.
