OTTAWA, ON (March 9, 2010) – Tomorrow over 150 alpine ski racers will race down the slopes of Calabogie as the 2010 Swiss Chalet K2 Provincials starts just outside of Ottawa. Four days of racing are scheduled for Ontario’s top 13 & 14 year old racers which include Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super G and the Super Combined event.
Calabogie Peaks is a member of the National Capital Division of Alpine Ontario and has a strong base of volunteers to handle an event of this size. Club President Ken Read is confident they can pull off yet another success event. “The team has been working hard to get prepared for this event and we are ready for all the excitement and energy that comes with hosting such a high-level event”
There have been many questions about snow conditions but the course is ready. “Calabogie Peaks has done a great job of making new snow and grooming the hill to prepare for this event. We are looking forward to a fun and successful Provincials this year”, says Steve Dowd, the Chief of Course for the event.
