SAULT STE. MARIE, ON (March 22, 2010) -- They did it again!! Searchmont Resort was the place of action for the Northern Ontario Alpine Ski Division Nancy Green Team Finals this past weekend.    For the second year in a row the Sault Ski Racers Alpine Ski Team managed to take home the cup.

Over 76 Racers age 6-12 from the Sault, Timmins, North Bay, Sudbury and Elliot Lake participated in this event hosted by the Searchmont Ski Runners. The weather and hill posted perfect conditions for these young racers to compete in three different events.

The Sault Ski Racers head coach Brian Mealey was extremely pleased with the team effort made to win the trophy yet once again.  He is still working his magic with his athletes developing their skills and techniques to make them dynamite skiers. It was great for the kids to compete at their home hill as well, being members of Searchmont Ski Resort.

The Sault Team included Conrad & Austin Nori, Angus, Molly and Finn Taylor, Daphne Fortin, Grace Kreps, Alexis Stubinsky, Johnathan Cho, Ash &Tayte Nowak, Emma & Hannah Hendrie, Mary Beth Prevost, Graham Derrer and Alex Real.

Winning the Cup was a perfect ending to a perfect weekend, not the mention they finished off the day with a surprise visit from Kip Harrington, Coach of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team. The Sault Ski Racers would like to congratulate all other NOD participants, as well as the Searchmont Ski Runners for hosting and running an excellent event.
