COLLINGWOOD, ON (April 29, 2010) -- On May 8th at York University, AOA Fitness Testing will add seven movement screens to identify common movement dysfunctions. The purpose is to prevent injuries and to improve physical literacy. Regardless if an athlete is skiing for recreation or with the hope to represent the country on the World Cup stage, all athletes need to posses sound movement qualities. These movements are not just important for skiing, they are important for all sports, activities, and are necessary for an active healthy lifestyle. Failure to perform movements correctly increases the risk of injury, increases the onset of degeneration, reduces the enjoyment of participation, and decreases performance.
