"In my imagination summer is about Muskoka and Temagami, where both sides of my family have summer cottages.  They are very different places with Muskoka being - well Muskoka.  It is a home away from home and easy to get too.  My dog loves it and I get to see my Mom’s family almost every weekend.  You can boat, lie in the sun, swim, shop and are never at a lack as far as convenience goes.  I love the buzz of Muskoka.  Temagami though is completely different – the buzz is gone, there is silence and it gets into you in a way I can’t describe - it is a part of me.  I love both places for very different reasons.

The month of July was a work month and looking back it was quite satisfying in that I accomplished quite a lot.  I took an online English course and went to FITS every day with some old and new ski mates. It was very hot and I missed my summer tremendously, but did manage a couple of weekends in Muskoka amid the homework.  The August long weekend is a Temagami weekend and then quickly we will be off on our adventure to New Zealand.

As I think about what I might be missing I look ahead to what I will be doing in August and over the course of next few years and quite frankly, the cottage can wait while I experience life, with a group of great people, from the top of a mountain or two."
