MT. HUTT, NEW ZEALAND (September 9, 2010) – What an exciting day for the Ontario Ski Team to race alongside some of the World’s best World Cup skiers in the current series in Mt. Hutt, New Zealand. Morgan Megarry, OST veteran from the Craigleith Ski Club, hit the top 15 alongside Aksel Lund Svindal – World Cup superstar from Norway. Svindal won the SuperG race with a time of 1.01.38; Megarry with at time of 1.03.37 was the top OST racer to finish in 11th spot.

In the Super Combined Norway’s Espen Lysdahl – an Europa Cup racer - won with a time of 1.42.71. Megarry again was the top Ontario racer to finish in 9th spot with a combined time of 1.45.99.

More speed races are scheduled today and a GS planned for Saturday. Following this the team will be returning home before heading off to Europe mid-October for the next camp.
About the Ontario Ski Team
The Ontario Ski Team represents the highest level of alpine skiing in the province with athletes spending over 120 days on snow each year. Commencing in May they will start training either on snow and/or in dryland programs in preparation for a 5-month competitive season that runs from late November through to the end of April.
