Mark your calendars for the Annual Alpine Ontario Coaches Conference being held on October 15 and 16, 2010 at the Georgian Peaks Club. It is shaping up to be another incredible professional development opportunity for Ontario coaches of all levels.
The Conference will feature presentations from Jean-Francois Rapatel – ACA Technical Director, Pierre Ruel – Technical Director CSCF, Dr Thomas Lam – AOA Fitness Director and President and Athletic Director - FITS Toronto, Thomas Erhart and Cam Twible – Ontario Team Coaching Staff, Troy Taylor - Director, Sport Science, Canadian Sport Centre Ontario ( and former Physiologist to the US Ski Team), Dr Steven Bray – Associate Professor, Health & Exercise Psychology, Department of Kinesiology, McMaster University, Dennis O’Sullivan – American Athletic Institute (former NFL Football Player), Claude Marquis – National Official Committee and FIS TD, Melissa Hopwood – National Coaching Institute.
One of our goals is to provide an exciting, informative conference at a cost that will allow maximum participation and thanks to the support from Quest for Gold, World Cup Club and Georgian Peaks club we are able to offer this conference at a cost of $60 for both days or $35 for one day (pricing includes HST) – this includes all presentations, coffee breaks, lunch and AOA giveaway.
The 2010 AOA Coach Conference will count for:
4 Education credits
1 Risk Management credit (must attend Friday Oct 15)
Coaches who attend will satisfy ALL PD needs to be licensed for 10/11 (you will still have to sign off on the Code of Conduct and pay your dues as additional requirements). If you are already licensed for 10/11 then the session will apply to 11/12 (max. one year forward for those who are already licensed).
