He is consistently one of the top performers at the U16 HPP fitness challenges. He is focused every run to improve – both in free skiing and gates. His focus, work ethic, attitude makes him a leader on his team. His results speak for themselves. As a young adult – he is a great role model as he is respectful, polite, and humble but fun loving. He is also a great supporter of his peers.”

“Sammy consistently brings a positive energy to the training and team environment. While he may not be a vocal leader on the team, he tries to keep the spirits on the team light to avoid getting bogged down in his stresses of ski racing. As a member of the Ontario Ski Team, Sammy continues to maintain a strong connection to his home club of Calabogie. Whenever possible, he will return to the club to take part in and support local camps and the younger programs. Despite a busy schedule, he always has time for younger athletes – whether it’s a few words of support at the start or discussing his time on the Ontario Ski Team.”

He has also raced the full spectrum of events from SL to DH and ENL to Nor-Am. Zach is a good ambassador to the community for the SOD Ski Team as well, particularly at his home club of Georgian Peaks.
