CRAIGLEITH COYOTES RAISE $10,000 FOR  ALPINE ONTARIO PARA RACING TEAM
Mackenzie Investments B.C. branch matches 2018 donations!

BLUE MOUNTAIN, ON (April 17, 2018) – The Craigleith Coyote Race Crew, at their 2018 season-end celebration, raised $10,000 for the Alpine Ontario Para Racing Team (AOPRT) with a live auction and raffle.   This is the fifth year the Coyote Race Crew has raised funds for the Para team, now exceeding a total of $35,000.   What came as a surprise in the eleventh hour was the promise to match donations by Mackenzie Investments (B.C. Branch).

We were astonished at how much money we raised, and that we as a group of volunteers, were able to support the Para Team in such a significant way.” said Mick Gillard, Race Crew Leader of the Coyotes.  “What brought us even more joy, was the fact that our contributions were matched by Mackenzie Investments!

Various organizations, many local shops and restaurants within the community, as well as several dedicated individuals who helped to organized the event, made it all possible, with their generous donations and time.

“Once again, the Ontario Para Alpine Ski Team, is astounded by the efforts and generosity of the Coyotes.”  Gwen Binsfeld, Program Director of AOPRT elaborates. “Over the past few years, the Coyote initiative has provided us with significant funding, that has made the world of difference in equipping our athletes to be competitive.”

The Craigleith Coyotes, out of the Craigleith Ski Club, are approximately seventy volunteers who help build, run and maintain secure, fair and fun races for alpine ski racers of all ages.   Supporting not only local races, but also volunteering at World Cup and Olympic Alpine events.

The Ontario Alpine Para Racing Team (AOPRT)  is a not- for-profit organization whose mission is to Educate, Promote, and Train Para Athletes to participate in para alpine racing. Through the assistance of sponsorships and donations, members train, compete and promote para alpine racing at all levels.

The team consists of members who have a variety of congenital and acquired physical challenges, racing in stand up, sitting or visually impaired categories, and includes athletes of all ages. Team members range in ability from entry level racers to World Cup competitors.
