Nor Am Welcome Letter

Hello Ski Racing Friends!

Speaking on behalf of my wife Sue and son Jake, we are thrilled to be the Event Chairs for the upcoming Ladies North American (NOR AM) Technical events in Collingwood starting January 2nd, 2019.

What an exciting time for Ontario ski racing with the return of the NOR AM to Collingwood for the first time since 2008! As well, this event will showcase the first-ever Parallel slalom (knock-out style) on the NOR AM circuit!

Working alongside Alpine Ontario, the Georgian Peaks Club, Osler Bluff Ski Club and Alpine Ski Club the  goals for the event are;

  • Bring the ski racing community together to celebrate a common love for the sport.
  • Provide a best-in-class racing experience for all our competitors, coaches, and volunteers.
  • Remember my late father-in-law (Bob Kirby) and the legacy he left on ski racing across Ontario.
  • Assist AOA in reaching their fundraising targets for the season.

After covering the costs of the event, the race organizing committee (ROC) will be splitting the revenue 50/50 with clubs with the goal being to create a legacy to ensure Ontario continues to host high profile events in the future.

In order to assist in our quest to raise money we have created an event budget as well as a sponsorship package with three levels; Title, Presenting and Proud for which will you find descriptions for below.

We are looking forward to kicking off the 2018/19 season with a bang and thank you for your consideration in supporting the event!

Yours truly,

John Mealey,
2019 NOR AM Co-Chair
