Karbon Bursary

Alpine Ontario Alpin and Karbon Announce the 2017 $5,000 Bursary

COLLINGWOOD, ON (October 10, 2017). Alpine Ontario Alpin (AOA) and Karbon today opened the 2017 Karbon bursary. The $5,000 bursary is open to all registered AOA skiers in the U14, U16 an U19 age categories with $2,500 awarded to one female and $2,500 awarded to one male. These funds are designed to assist high performance skiers who demonstrate athletic success to date, financial need and a commitment to their sport as supported by their coaches.

The bursary has been running since 2004 and is the largest single amount of funding given to an AOA skier outside of the Quest for Gold Program that is only available to our FIS athletes as per government funding regulations.

Candidates will be screened by an independent group on the AOA Awards & Bursary Committee. Athletes will be awarded points for their application which is measured on three levels:

  • Athletic performance
  • Financial need
  • Commitment, attitude, work ethic, dedication, goals
